What to Expect Your First Sunday at AZUSA Churches

Visiting a new church for the first time can feel a little nerve-wracking. What do you wear? Where do you sit? Will people talk to you? Will it be awkward?

We want to take all of that off your plate. Here's an honest, friendly walkthrough of what your first Sunday at AZUSA Churches Las Vegas will actually look like — starting October 4th, our grand opening day.

Before You Arrive

You don't need to prepare anything. Seriously. You don't need to read a specific Bible passage, memorize any songs, or bring anything with you. Just come as you are.

Service starts at 8:30 AM and 10:00 AM PST every Sunday. We recommend arriving a few minutes early so you have time to find a seat and get comfortable before things kick off.

What to wear: Whatever you're comfortable in. Some people dress up, some come casual. There's no dress code at AZUSA — we care far more about you being there than what you're wearing.

When You Walk In

You'll be greeted at the door. Our welcome team is there to say hello, answer any questions, and point you in the right direction — not to interrogate you or sign you up for anything.

If you have kids, we have age-appropriate programming available. Just ask at the welcome desk and someone will walk you over.

Find a seat wherever you feel comfortable. There are no assigned spots, no "regulars only" sections. Sit where you like.

During the Service

A typical Sunday service at AZUSA includes:

• Worship music — a mix of contemporary and gospel-inspired songs. You're welcome to sing along, stand, or just listen. No pressure.
• A message from the Word — our pastors teach from the Bible in a way that's practical, honest, and relevant to real life. No jargon, no guilt trips.
• Community moments — brief announcements and opportunities to connect with what's happening at AZUSA.

The service runs about 60–75 minutes.

After the Service

This is often the best part. Stick around after service and you'll find people who genuinely want to meet you. Our community is warm, diverse, and welcoming — and many of our closest friendships started with a conversation after a Sunday service.
